THE CHALLENGE

A non-profit aviation organization offering member-exclusive benefits—such as discounted fuel and rental cars—sought to modernize its web and mobile applications. The goal was to simplify how members interacted with the organization and accessed their offerings, while also boosting engagement and encouraging broader use of the benefits available.

THE SOLUTION

During our inception phase, we conducted an in-depth analysis of the organization’s current technology stack and member base. With a focus on minimizing disruption, we elected to develop a multi-platform solution that seamlessly integrated with their existing systems.

Leveraging the capabilities of Flutter (an open-source framework for building multi-platform applications from a single codebase), we initially built an iPad and web application to serve as a central hub for members.

Core application features included:

  • An interactive map showcasing all partnered Fixed Base Operator (FBO) locations, allowing pilots to explore all in-network FBOs.
  • Real time information regarding discounted fuel prices, accepted aircraft, available services, and local weather conditions for each in-network FBO.
  • A dynamic homepage offering tools for data management, partner information, announcements, and promotional banners.

With Flutter’s versatility, the iPad and web applications were quickly adapted for iPhone and Android with minimal redevelopment.

THE RESULTS

By bringing essential features together into a single, user-friendly platform, this application delivers a modernized experience tailored to the unique needs of aviation enthusiasts and their aircraft. The solution has seen strong adoption among organizational membership and has significantly increased engagement with their full range of offerings.
